I was just listening to the Cowboy Junkies
when a throwaway line in my last blog came to mind, so I am wondering whether to change to the Strolling Bones for ear delight.

In fact, quite apart from his propensity for falling from trees, Keif has a marvellous ability to survive and produce great music. As for his singer, well perhaps his greatest moment was singing the wonderful "Stoned', where he was not over exposed. Having said that I feel one or two songs in Keif's gravelly voice is actually enough per album! I recently watched the so long delayed DVD of the Rock & Roll Circus and find I still miss Brian, it's a pity he was such a fragile soul.

But back in their younger days they were less rock gods and rather more easy to approach. Back in the early sixties, when still at school, I seem to recall meeting them in the "Two Bare Feet" coffee bar before they played at the Winchester Lido. Since I was at boarding school and could not get out in the evenings I did not see the actual show. I wonder if that is why I now prefer to avoid going to live performances and would rather wait for a DVD issue.

But, actually, I would have gone if I could since the Stones were lovely ladies, as we all know.
