Since Singapore is full of the Xmas spirit (assuming that means shopping frenzy and piped carols to the point of agony in all shops) and knowing that on our return to the Phils in a couple of days it will be just the same I will give out my wishes also even though to me it all seems a bit early.
Mind you, I am fully aware of the passage of time, which seems to flow
faster and faster as one ages. Still I see that not a great deal has changed in the world; although I feel that I had not previously appreciated my ecclesiastical
forebears. And of course unless you click this picture to see it large enough to read the caption then you will also miss the significance. My vast age and marriage has made me a quieter man than in my youth; in my early journeys bargirls were indeed a feature in my most
frequented places but it seems to be a whole new world these days and the style has changed. These days restaurants are more my place than bars but I do note that these charming ladies are apparently about to take cake around to some lucky diners.
