Back a bit

Still harping on about earlier this year, we set off for UK in September to dump the brat at boarding school and arrange the shipping of the last of our belongings in UK. Alistair is of course intending to follow in his father's footsteps and I look forward to the day when he can join the exclusive club that occupies so much of my time.
The trip required us to travel madly around the country and we managed to meet up with Kielan and Chris, who we had not seen for about twelve years. An amazing couple with an amazing family, including an early 20s son, who answered the front door and placed me immediately. Quite impressive in view of the length of time since he had seen us and the fact that we turned up wholly without warning and unsure if we had the correct address.
Also we were able to see Alitia, our daughter, to whom Alistair is devoted in spite of the rarity of him being able to see her. Sometimes I feel she was left by the fairy folk since she has a great deal of style, not something that I am much endowed with.

And then it was back on the road as we continued the peripatic driving wildly around the country. In fact the fuel costs were beginning to become significant so we had to revise our mode of transport, including the major change to in-car entertainment. Our only sorrow was we could not get a Philippine cover band installed but one cannot have everything in life, regrettably.
And then it was off to the school again to drop him off for his new style of
living. While we were stifling a sob he was enjoying life immensely as can be seen here (together with Alice's butt) so at least we had no concerns as to the likelihood of homesickness leading to misery for him (or indeed for us).
