Training

I may have mentioned that we had some pigs born early on Xmas day, and here is a photo of two piglets, still bloody but having a well deserved Christmas feed.Pigs are extremely intelligent animals, and are easily trained. Sometimes I wonder if my liking for them is explained by the regular comments I receive claiming that I am something of a pig myself? Anyway we do not approve of vicious methods for training as pigs respond well to kindness, they enjoy play in their youth, as all should, and then settle into the more mature pleasures of elders as they age. Thus I always have companionship in my own attempts to reduce the European wine lakes. However life is not all gaiety and although I was never a great sportsman I insist that they take exercise, under guidance of course, with a view not only to improve their health but also to expand their horizons beyond merely cerebral pleasures. To this end we employ properly trained lifesaving staff and ensure that the swimming lessons are fun as well as productive. We are hoping for a good showing at the pig Olympics in a few years, but for this of course total dedication is required.
But, who knows, it may be that we have the talent in our latest litter, surely those born on Christmas day must have some great gift to offset the loss of years of birthday gifts that they must endure?
But enough, we must head to the airport so I will end with a porcine wish.
